The newest ATTA 2015 Adventure Travel Industry Report Snapshot is just out and shows the adventure travel industry was fairly stable in 2014, with gradual increases in revenues and investments, with a change in the top destinations sought and some variation in trip length. Here are some snippets.
Companies based in Africa showed the largest percentage increase in gross revenues, while companies based in North America still posted the highest over-all revenues. This is amid a year when there was a huge ebola scare in Africa. The African operators are predicting a small increase in sales for 2015, but are expecting a drop in profits of 14%.
57% of businesses provide the option of booking their trips online and 7 out of 10 would recommend using an automated reservation system like Adventure Engine.
Most popular tactics for increasing effectiveness in driving customer bookings are developing a more personal approach to clientele and increased focus on custom itineraries, amongst a long list of options.
